
Anna Semkina – Pianist
Originally from Rostov-on-Don (Russia), Anna Semkina began playing the piano at the age of four under the guidance of her mother. Five years later, she was admitted to the Music Academy in her hometown.
Her exceptional talent was recognized at the Caucasian Youth Competition, where she was awarded third prize at the age of fourteen.
In 1987, she was accepted into the Conservatory in the class of T. Evtodieva (a student of the renowned pedagogue H. Neuhaus), where she earned her Soloist and Pedagogue Diploma with distinction.
Anna Semkina continued her musical studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, where she received numerous awards and the highest distinctions, studying under professors such as E. Moguilevski for piano and A. Siwy for chamber music.
A laureate of the Laure van Cutsem and Horlait-Dapsens competitions, she also holds First Prizes in written and practical harmony.
She has performed in various ensembles and was invited to the Modave Young Soloists Festival, the Silly Musical Spring, the Brussels International Book Fair, the opening gala of Flanders Technology in Ghent, and the Musical Night of Beloeil.
Her interest in different musical genres has led her to participate in various projects, including composing music for films and commercials, as well as appearing on numerous television and radio programs.
In addition to these activities, Anna Semkina is currently a piano professor and accompanist at the Academy of Uccle.
